These Expressionist stylistic exercises marked the beginning of KM’s departure from landscape watercolours. People did not appear in them. Now everything is different. All the scenes are populated by people. Concrete situations, conflicts, fears, hopes appear everywhere. These are preliminary works for KM’s first large painting cycle.
