This cycle marks the beginning of KM’s departure from landscape watercolours. People did not appear in them. Now everything is different. All the scenes are populated by people, and their mental realms are anything but balanced. Concrete situations appear everywhere, conflicts, fears, hopes – including geographical ‘escapes’, farewells and new beginnings in relationships. These are expressionist stylistic exercises by a painter on temporarily unsecured terrain.
