At first glance, ‘nothing to see’ seems flirtatious in the face of pictures that are freely composed in terms of colour and form, stripped of all concreteness. They do not want to offer anything identifiable to the searching gaze – they simply want to be perceived in their wholeness of abstract forms and composed colourfulness. Of all the cycles, Rien à Voir is the most abstract.
